Geoff Connelly the sad loss of a friend and colleague
It is with great sadness that I have to tell you our dear friend and colleague Geoff Connelly passed away on Saturday morning the 28th June. Geoff had been battling with cancer for just over 6 months and had continued to stay upbeat and working right up until a couple of weeks ago.
Geoff had been a part of Hall-McCartney for 21 years and was well known in the Historic Buildings Industry as the Sales Manager for the Historic Buildings Parks & Gardens Event, (HBPGE), SPAB Magazine, Pinnacle, and BA Magazine. Over the years Geoff has been instrumental in the success of the event which in 2024 saw its biggest attendance on record. Geoff had a hand in almost all the magazines, publications, and projects we have been involved with over the years, including the recent sell out IHBC Annual School in Shrewsbury.
We are all devastated by Geoff’s passing and are thoughts are with all his family, friends and colleagues at this sad time. He will be greatly missed by us all.
Maz Oakley, his colleague of over 16 years, will be taking over the role of Exhibition Sales Manager. Many of you will already know Maz as you will have met her at the HBPGE Event or spoken to her about the many other publications she looks after. Maz is available on Tel 01462 896688 or email maz@hall-mccartney.co.uk
Kelly Sadler our Sales Administration Manager, also a familiar name and face to many of you, will continue to provide the never-failing essential help and support to you, in arranging your exhibition stand at the event. kelly is available on Tel 01462896688 or email kelly@hall-mccartney.co.uk
We will of course be doing our best to make this year’s event a huge success which will serve as a testament to Geoff’s commitment, hard work and dedication to the show.
With Best Wishes
